Valencia College
-
Valencia College won Recyclemania's Waste Minimization challenge back to back 2012 and 2013.
-
They started implementing their new recycling policies in 2007 and in July of 2010 they earned roughly $240.00 from processing their recycling with their local recycling company.
-
One way they did this was by labeling all non-recycling bins as "Landfill" as a reminder to make students and faculty more conscience.
American University
-
American University was the Grand Champion of Recyclemania in 2012.
-
They started a "Zero Waste Policy" in 2010 and found many ways to encourage recycling including a competition to make the best sculpture out of recycling.
-
They also won in the "Per Capita Classic" because they had the most bottles, cans, and paper collected per-person.
